Curious Creatures – by Frances Clarke

Exist before your essence is established
By education’s routine flatness.
Have courage to take chances,
Make organic advances.
We are curious creatures
Using our “engines of achievement”.
That’s biological not mechanical;
Individualisation of the nation.
No more standardisation
As we rise out of education’s
Death valley and flourish
In the precipitation of creation.

This poem was inspired by the TED Talks of Sir Ken Robinson on the state of the education system today.

How does it make you feel? Do we need to encourage a more creative education?
